Liberty And Justice For All Crashes And Burns

The decline to fascism took another step today when the U.S. Senate passed legislation giving almost unlimited power to King George. Despite four amendments trying to salvage at least a little sense of decency and justice in the hallowed halls of Congress, there is now no such thing as Habeas Corpus. Torture will be whatever the sick, twisted minds of Dick Cheney and his puppet George decide it is. There was even an alternate bill put forward by Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) which was shot down in flames. This is a day when what was the most respected country in the world lost the rest of its' moral compass. Any morality and respect that is left is owned by the majority of its' citizens only - their leaders took a pass, pushed on by a power hungry and corrupt Republican Congress. Disgusting.

    Bush's Favorite Dictator - Needs A Smackdown

If this low-life dictator doesn't have enough respect for the dead bodies of the Canadian Forces who died in Afghanistan, then we should pull our troops out NOW. I am sure this will be buried somewhere close to the used car ads in the print media and given around 20 seconds (and that's optimistic) on cable or network newscasts. Here is what has me totally pissed off. From Reuters.....
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf bluntly told Canadians on Tuesday to stop complaining about the number of soldiers they were losing in Afghanistan, saying Canada's death toll was far less than Pakistan's.
Excuse me? complaining? Listen you thankless SOB if that is all the respect you have for the Canadian troops murdered while they try to help clean up your neighbors' backyard to protect your little dictatorship then screw off! Here is some more of what the bastard Bush refers to as "his brother" had to say....
"When you get involved in places like Iraq or Lebanon or Afghanistan, yes indeed you have to suffer casualties, and the nation must be prepared to suffer casualties. So if you're not prepared to suffer casualties as an army, then don't participate in any operation..."
First of all Mr Musharraf, Canada is not involved in Bush's folly in Iraq. We had a little more sense than the poodle in Britain, and refused to participate in the illegal invasion and occupation of another country even if we outright agree that Saddam was a torturing tyrant. I find it quite telling however that the torturer-in-chief in the White House referred to you as his "brother", and you were invited to visit his home to meet his racist bitch of a mother. As for Lebanon, well that was another King George mess - only this time he was using the Israeli military forces to continue keeping the Middle East in turmoil. Secondly, Canada was sent to Afghanistan on a peacekeeping mission and with the intention of helping the other NATO forces rebuild your region of the world. Helping in a country whose only means of income is growing poppy seeds so many of our children realize the pain of addiction. How about we examine your personal bank records and see if you are also profiting from that mess? Are you interested in helping to rebuild your neighbor's house? HELL NO! All you know about is more murder and mayhem while you are propped-up by your "brother" who has also become a dictator. I have some advice for you Mr. Musharraf. Before you get too cozy with King George and his warmongering friends, take a good hard look at what they did to that guy in Iraq named Saddam. Remember him? He was the man they propped up and supplied with weapons and deadly chemicals to gas his own people and murder thousands of Iranians. Remember Saddam? He's the guy who shook hands with a smiling Donald Rumsfeld, only to be turned upon and locked up. Rummy is the same guy who now orders good and decent men and women to commit torture in the name of democracy. Here's more...
"We have suffered 500 casualties. The Canadians have suffered four or five. What are you talking about? Who are you talking to? Who are you talking to? You are talking to the president of a country that has suffered 500 casualties".
No you ungrateful pompous little snot. It is actually 35, but one is too many to help the likes of you. There are over 2300 Canadian troops in Afghanistan, and 20 of those 35 cold corpses you have no respect for have been killed in just the last three months. But then again, what's a few dead soldiers other than an inconvenience for you? What's a few dead soldiers whose bodies you may as well have spat upon - killed trying to help fix the damn mess George left behind when he went after phantom weapons of mass destruction. You lost 500 you say? Well sir I grieve for every one of those 500 souls. If you want to go about the task of what country has the highest body count, just remember this - it is YOUR country that benefits from Canada's presence there NOT OURS. You also say this...
"I can assure you our troops are more effective and we have more experience of war...."
Then go for it you creepy little bastard. I just have one more thing to say to you. I will quote another creep who thinks the world was built for him and his buddies to get rich of off...."go fuck yourself". I sincerely apologize to my readers for the long and profane rant but I just had to get this out before it ate me up inside.

My Son Was Not A Comma

During an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, King George while referring to how he thinks future historians would view this illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, said "...when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like just a comma..." Unfortunately the megalomaniac currently occupying the White House continues avoiding the truth and not seeing the obvious blood on his hands that history will see. Casey Austin Sheehan was KIA in Iraq on 04/04/04. He will be part of that "final history" George refers to as "a comma". His mom Cindy penned a heart rendering opinion of George's view.
With 2701 of our children killed and over 20,000 injured, I would have to type 182 lines filled with commas. Then, if we take in to account the low figure of 100,000 innocent Iraqis killed, I would need pages of commas.
    Read on.....

    Thoughts On Clinton/Wallace Smackdown

If you missed it, the video is below. I watched it at the time and have viewed it numerous times since and I have to say he sure did give that prissy Chris Wallace one helluva whippin'. Now poor little Prissy Chrissy is all over claiming how he wasn't being partisan, he wasn't trying to sandbag Clinton - no, no, not him. In fact he claimed to Capitol Hill Blue
"All I did was ask him a question, and I think it was a legitimate news question. I was surprised that he would conjure up that this was a hit job"
Sure Chris you and your neocon buddies at Faux would never do such a thing. After all, you were only asking because of the overwhelming amount of email you received - like I believe that story. It ranks right up there with the preface "some might say" which is also a favorite of someone wanting to deflect the responsibility of what you are going to say. As I pointed out in this post on Saturday, Wallace was invited there to interview Clinton about his Global Initiative: Inspiring Change conference. IMO it was great to see someone stand up to the wingnuts on the right while at the same time reminding us what it was like to have a grown-up and a real President leading the U.S. with a real goal in mind. I can't help but wonder what King George will do for the greater good when he leaves office. Probably the same thing he has done for the last 5 years.....make money from the blood spilled by others.

"Mr. Rumsfeld and his immediate team must be replaced "

SOMEONE - ANYONE please smack that dimwit parading around as President and Commander In Chief across the back of the head and tell him to get rid of Donald Rumsfeld. Once again retired military leaders have called for Rumsfeld to retire or be removed as Defense Secretary. This time it was at the Senate Democratic Policy hearing. One told the Committee that Rumsfeld was "incompetent strategically, operationally and tactically , and another said what we all know, (in an about way), that the President and his Administration including Rumsfeld outright lied to the public about the war in Iraq saying:
"I believe that Secretary Rumsfeld and others in the administration did not tell the American people the truth for fear of losing support for the war in Iraq,"
    CNN has the story.

Must Read Articles On The First Real Political Weekend

Of course the political wind has been blowing regularly with the upcoming mid-term election. But this is the first real down in the trenches weekend. I believe there are two things that are a must to read and contemplate. First, please read this transcript of an interview with former President Bill Clinton conducted by Republican mouthpiece Chris Wallace to be broadcast on Fox News Sunday. As you read this, keep in mind that Clinton was originally told that the interview was about his Clinton Global Initiative: Inspiring Change, and they try to sandbag him. Here is a sample...
WALLACE: Do you think you did enough sir? CLINTON: No, because I didn't get him. WALLACE: Right… CLINTON: But at least I tried. That'’s the difference in me and some, including all the right wingers who are attacking me now. They ridiculed me for trying. They had eight months to try and they didn'’t… I tried. So I tried and failed. When I failed I left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy and the best guy in the country, Dick Clarke. So you did FOX'’s bidding on this show. You did your nice little conservative hit job on me. But what I want to know..
    [snip]
WALLACE: I asked a question. You don'’t think that'’s a legitimate question? CLINTON: It was a perfectly legitimate question but I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked this question of. I want to know how many people in the Bush administration you asked why didn'’t you do anything about the Cole? I want to know how many you asked why did you fire Dick Clarke? I want to know...
You can read the entire interview at Think Progress. I applaud President Clinton for showing the obvious bias and and bullshit of Faux and the other wingnuts of the right-wing. I hope his fellow Dems in both houses of Congress take note. Of course the only thing to watch now, is how much of the interview is left on the cutting room floor to make Wallace and Faux News look good. The other article I recommend is written by Robert Kennedy Jr. and published by Rolling Stone. The article gives us a look into the hacking of Diebold voting machines and the stolen 2002 election. Further, is the story of Chris Hood who worked for Diebold as a consultant and admits to tampering with the touch screen voting machines in Georgia.
According to Hood, Diebold employees altered software in some 5,000 machines in DeKalb and Fulton counties - the state's largest Democratic strongholds. To avoid detection, Hood and others on his team entered warehouses early in the morning. "We went in at 7:30 a.m. and were out by 11," Hood says. "There was a universal key to unlock the machines, and it's easy to get access. The machines in the warehouses were unlocked. We had control of everything. The state gave us the keys to the castle, so to speak, and they stayed out of our way." Hood personally patched fifty-six machines and witnessed the patch being applied to more than 1,200 others.
    [snip]
But the tally in Georgia that November surprised even the most seasoned political observers. Six days before the vote, polls showed Sen. Max Cleland, a decorated war veteran and Democratic incumbent, leading his Republican opponent Saxby Chambliss - darling of the Christian Coalition - by five percentage points. In the governor's race, Democrat Roy Barnes was running a decisive eleven points ahead of Republican Sonny Perdue. But on Election Day, Chambliss won with fifty-three percent of the vote, and Perdue won with fifty-one percent.
Since the Republican controlled Congress hasn't see fit to make "mandatory" paper trails of votes for verification in the upcoming mid-terms, the only way to help insure that voting results are not "flipped" to the Republican opponent is to vote in high enough numbers so there is no doubt of the outcome. Read the entire article (and I'll worn you ahead of time - it is long), at Rolling Stone.com.

    bin Laden Death Rumor Unconfirmed

The rumor that Osama bin Laden is dead has been circulating prominently starting with a leak from the French intelligence service DGCE, and published by the French newspaper L'Est Republicain. The Associated Press however is reporting the rumor is unconfirmed.
President Jacques Chirac said Saturday that information contained in a leaked intelligence document raising the possibility that Osama bin Laden may have died of typhoid in Pakistan last month is "in no way whatsoever confirmed".
Despite that caveat from President Chirac, the rumors continue to spread like a firestorm. CNN is saying OBL is very ill but not dead, and Time Magazine quoting a source from Saudi Arabia says:
Saudi sources tell TIME that credible reports suggest the fugitive Qaeda leader has contracted a serious 'water-borne illness,' and may have already died..
Well if these rumors are true and OBL has gone to meet up with all those supposed virgins on the otherside I am sure King George will find some way to claim credit. Perhaps this "water-borne illness" was a secret CIA action he authorized. Remember - he said he wanted him "dead or alive", and there is an election coming. Could this be Karls' "October surprise" just a few day early?

DOD Ordered To Release More Guantanamo Files

U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff ordered the Department of Defense to release more files to the Associated Press in their FOIA request regarding the possible torture and other disciplinary actions taken against detainees held at Guantanamo Bay. The Government had been arguing that the release would violate the detainees' privacy rights.
"The public interest in disclosing government malfeasance is well-established," the judge wrote in saying that the AP had demonstrated the need. David A. Schulz, who argued the case for the AP, called the judge's decision "a resounding victory for the public's right to know."
For the DOD to argue that they are concerned about the detainees' privacy when the Administration is trying to make their use of torture legal is outright ludicrous. Of course they don't call it torture, in their twisted minds, it is only agressive interrogating. Read on.....

    Hypocrisy Prevails

You and I both knew it was coming, we just wondered how long it would take for Georgie Boy to use the 9-11 and terror card in his speech to the U.N. Would you believe - oh about 30 seconds. But reading the transcript his hypocrisy level hits a new high.
This morning I want to speak about the more hopeful world that is within our reach, a world beyond terror, where ordinary men and women are free to determine their own destiny, where the voices of moderation are empowered, and where the extremists are marginalized by the peaceful majority.
Sure George the same type of moderation you are using? Indiscriminate bombing of Iraqi civilians when you invaded and then the use of depleted uranium to keep them in order. It's no fucking wonder there are now terrorists in every country that hate the entire western world. Then the bullshit meter really goes of the scale:
The principles of this world beyond terror can be found in the very first sentence of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document declares that, "The equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom and justice and peace in the world."
    [snip]
Freedom, by its nature, cannot be imposed.
This from the war-monger who uses secret prisons to lock people up indefinitely without charges of any kind. This from the war-monger who wants to re-write the The Geneva Conventions to cover his own ass for authorizing the use of torture and make it legal to do so in the future. This from the war-monger who has his sights set on yet another Mid-East country to bomb the hell out of....namely Iran. This from the war-monger who thinks "negotiating" is giving a speech telling other leaders how he thinks their countries should be run. This from the war-monger who thinks his view of freedom is the only legitimate one. The one that even accuses his own citizens of being un-American if they even dare to think or express any other view but his. He then goes on to praise the free and open democracies of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and other middle east countries that still stifle the rights of women and free speech. Face it, this was just more of the same. He wasn't speaking to the U.N. he was spouting his usual load of crap he spouts everytime an election looms and he wants to bring out his base of liars and racists. What hogwash....You can read the entire transcript if you can get trough it without massive nausea HERE.......

Attack On Iran In The Near Future?

According to Slate and their analysis of Time Magazine's latest issue it sure as hell looks that way. According to Time, a "prepare to deploy" order has been sent out to U.S. Navy submarines, an Aegis-class cruiser, two minesweepers, and two mine-hunting ships. The chief of naval operations, the nation's top admiral, has ordered a fresh look at contingency plans for blockading Iran's oil ports. The Slate article takes the view that quite possibly this is a bluff to make Iran think an attack is imminent so they will negotiate.
there are at least two possibilities: The Bush administration really is gearing up for war, and some dissenting officers want to sound the alarm and rouse opposition. Or the administration wants to make the Iranians think an attack is brewing in order to pressure them into a diplomatic solution.
As Fred Kaplan says in his article, that would be the saner of the two options (attack or diplomacy), but the way I see it, Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld haven't used a "sane" attitude since they stole the Presidency and I doubt saneness returning at this late date. In addition to the Slate/Time stories, there is this from ICH titled This is how US will attack Iran that raises the alarm of the situation with Iran to a higher level.
It will take a few days, with thousands of sorties, satellite and laser-guided bombs will be aimed at targets -– 1,500 already planned by Pentagon -– and will try to infiltrate armed concrete, under which some of nuclear sites are hidden. Meanwhile, Washington launches diplomatic blitz in attempt to promote sanctions on Tehran.
Well the diplomatic blitz started today with Bush yammering away at the U.N. However, the article goes on to say this about the Time report:
The attack, the Time says, will be limited to the nuclear facilities in Iran and will be aimed at 18 to 30 different facilities connected to the nuclear program. The sites are spread across the country, some of them exposed, some operating under the guise of regular plants, and others buried deep under the ground. Sources in the Pentagon told the magazine that among the sites the Americans are familiar with are 1,500 targets for an attack. In other words, the military offensive requires activating nearly all types of planes in the army's possession: Warplanes and stealth vehicles, F-15 and F-16 aircrafts taking off from the land and an F-18 which takes off from an aircraft carrier.
I don't know about you, but given the track record of this neocon bunch, I wouldn't put too much stock in their claims of using diplomacy. This would take talking with Tehran, not preaching to them and the world what their demands are, and this Administration is not capable of a civil dialogue with anyone. Read on.....

    Keith Does It Again!!!!!

One again, Keith Olbermann has spoken truth to power, "The President of the United States owes this country an apology".
Finally tonight, a Special Comment about the Rose Garden news conference last Friday. The President of the United States owes this country an apology. There are now none around him who would tell him - or could. The last of them, it appears, was the very man whose letter provoked the President into the conduct, for which the apology is essential. An apology is this President’s only hope of regaining the slightest measure of confidence, of what has been, for nearly two years, a clear majority of his people.

John Yoo - Delusional Or Dumb

Another merchant of death from the Bush neocon cabal explains the thinking of the Bush administration. Can you believe this comment from an article speaking of the need to increase Presidential power? John Yoo says this in reference to the old Soviet Union?
The changes of the 1970'’s occurred largely because we had no serious national security threats to United States soil...
Good god!! And to think this man is teaching students at UC Berkley School of Law. By the looks of it this guy obviously never picked up a history book or lived through the cold war. As a man in his sixties, I can assure you all - the threat to National Security was a hell of a lot more real than the current scare crusade being conducted by that bunch on Pennsylvania Avenue. Sure there is a definite threat of terrorism, but think about it....terrorism has been around a long, long time. Israel, Great Britain immediately come to mind, but also many other countries. Even here in Canada we had the terrorist bombings and kidnappings conducted by The FLQ. But right now they pale in comparison to the very real threat that if the U.S., it's allies, and the Soviet Union decided to get into a pissing match, it would mean the end of the world. And to think we were naive enough back then to believe our teachers when they said if the air raid sirens go off "duck and cover" which meant get under your desk and cover your head with your arms. LOL - I kid you not, there were even television PSA's telling us that on every network. Even at 39 years old he can't possibly be that stupid. Well my friends he's not, he is another of the madmen and women who occupy a lofty perch in society gained by birth or on the backs of others. Strange isn't it? He and others of his ilk are always members of either The American Enterprise Institute or the Federalist Society. In his case it is both. Click through on the links to see a list of members. You can read his entire diatribe at - where else but The NY Times.

Is The Senate's Split With Bush All It's Said To Be?

I came across this article at Tom Paine.com yesterday. It is a must read for everyone who sees the continuing erosion of the rights afforded under The U.S. Constitution. Aziz Huq, the Director of the Liberty and National Project at the Brennan Center raises some serious questions regarding the bill from the Armed Services Committee (known as The Warner bill) and backed by Sens. McCain and Graham. He points out, and rightly so, that on closer inspection, the bill in some respects, could be "practically a blank check when it comes to executive detention authority". Two parts of the bill are especially ominous. One, attempts to stop judicial review of overseas detainees. The other, seems to make it possible to extend the detention authority into the future, and also extend to not only non-citizens, but also U.S. citizens in the United States. In other words, even U.S. citizens would be vulnerable to seizure and unending detention whenever the President (and to be fair any future President) feels like it. Read on..... ***UPDATE***From a diary by MediaFreeze Daily Kos
Something very momentous is about to happen. It looks like the McCain Graham Warner version of the military commissions bill is going to pass. While much attention has been paid to the difference between the Bush and these "rebel" Republicans versions, very little notice has been taken of the fact that the McCain version too takes the draconian step of suspending habeas corpus, the linchpin of a free society.
Please read this diary it is extremely important.

Canadian Opposition Parties To Call For Afghanistan Debate

The Canadian Parliament returns for its' fall session today, and opposition Party leaders are expected to demand a debate on (Bush Lite) Conservative Premier Stephen Harper's foreign policy. News that four more Canadian soldiers have been killed (bringing the total to 36), will definitely add fuel to the debate. When the Liberals, who held the majority of Parliament at the time sent Canada's military men and women into Afghanistan, they like the rest of NATO, did so believing they would be a rebuilding and peacekeeping force. They were NOT there as a military force persuing all out war. It was Stephen Harper who pushed our military into combat duty in order to kiss up to King George so he could continue his supposed "war on terror". Canada's military should not be used as an enabler of Bush's illegal occupation of Iraq by easing the burden of the U.S. military. Canada has more than 2,000 soldiers in Afghanistan, mostly in the Kandahar region. Last week, the Harper government announced that it was increasing the country's troop commitment to 2,500. CNEWS reported last week that NDP Leader Jack Layton will call for troop withdrawal:
QUEBEC (CP) - The NDP has officially become Canada's first major political party to call for a withdrawal of the country's troops from Afghanistan. A party convention voted massively Saturday in favor of Leader Jack Layton's call for a pullout, giving his proposal an endorsement from grassroot members and making it formal NDP policy. More than 1,500 delegates voted overwhelmingly - about 90 per cent - in favor of a "safe and immediate" withdrawal. "We have a really strong show of support from our members here today," Layton told reporters after the vote. "Now we're calling on Canadians to join with us in calling on the Harper government to change the track he's currently on with (U.S. President) George Bush."
And The Globe and Mail is reporting today that Bloc Quebcois Leader Gilles Duceppe will also call for the debate:
NDP Leader Jack Layton said Monday he believes more Canadians are now questioning Canada's role in Afghanistan. "“I believe more and more Canadians are beginning to ask the questions that we've been asking and reaching the conclusions that we have been reaching, which is this is not a mission that is taking us toward success"” he said. "“All the indications are that it's causing more violence, that the life of the citizens in Afghanistan is not more secure."” The Bloc Quebcois has called for an urgent debate in the House of commons on Canada's foreign policy ahead of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's address to the United Nations on Sept. 21.
The Harper Government for those not familiar with the Canadian Parliamentary system, means Harper has minority status with 124 elected MP's. The Liberals (103 MP's) BQ (51 MP's) and The New Democratic Party (29 MP's) make up the remainder of Parliament. Harper, who is seen as a "Bush clone" by most progressives in Canada, will have to tread very lightly in his attempt to tie Canada to the U.S. military policies.

4 More Canadian Soldiers Killed Handling Bush's Afghanistan Mess

Four more members of the Canadian "peacekeeping" force in Afghanistan have been killed by a suicide bomber. The BBC reports that the soldiers were killed
Canadian commander Gen. David Fraser said other troops were wounded. Police said a number of civilians were also hurt when the bomber rode a bicycle laden with explosives into a crowd of troops and children. The blast occurred in Panjwayi district, scene of recent fierce clashes between troops and the Taliban. ------- Local police said a patrol of Canadian soldiers were outside a school on foot, handing out pens and other items to children when a suicide bomber on a bicycle rode into the crowd. The explosives were in a crate on the back of his bike, an official said.
So far, 32 Canadian soldiers and one diplomat have died since King George used his "cut and run" policy and pulled his troops for an illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq. As if this isn't bad enough, now we have Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay obviously with blessing of (Bush Clone) Prime Minister Stephen Harper, saying he intends to increase Canadian troop and equipment levels. Now tell me please if this sounds like exactly like King George regarding his Iraq policy? From The Globe and Mail. "“We've said all along that we're there to finish the job"”. And an echo of Donald Rumsfeld? "“Will we be there five years? Will we be there longer? That remains to be seen". Hell all that's missing from this quote is Rumsfeld's trademark of "There are known unknowns, and unknown unknowns bla bla bla.... All that's missing is his "Who knew ?" Now 32 soldiers may not seem like a large number when compared to U.S. military death in Iraq. But if you percentage it out with the amount of Canadian troops deployed to Afghanistan it comes to a stunning 43 per cent of all coalition military deaths in Afghanistan since February, the report, entitled 'Canada's Fallen", by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. The study also went on to say
"The move south from Kabul to Kandahar, approved by the Liberal government in 2005 and extended by the Conservative government, has been a costly one. Twenty of Canada's deaths from hostile attacks, roughly three quarters, have occurred since the counterinsurgency mission began in February 2006. The mission is so hazardous that a Canadian soldier in Kandahar is six times as likely to be killed by hostile attack than a U.S. soldier serving in Iraq".
Well I say it is time for Canada to get the hell out of Afghanistan, and let that two-bit dictator who thinks of himself as King George clean up his own frickin' mess. Are more Canadian military men and women supposed to die in the future especially considering that he now has his sights set on Iran? I'm sorry but just because he and his petrofascists want to eventually control the world oil distribution doesn't mean Canadian and other NATO forces should have to be murdered for his fools folly.

Bush "Covering his own backside" - Olbermann

The only true reporter in the corporate controlled media has once again come through with the truth. On his Friday night program, he stated what I and many others firmly believe. Bush is in a hurry to get his legislation regarding Article III of the Geneva Conventions only because he is "covering his own backside." As Constitutional Law Professor Jonathan Turley from Georgetown University points out, the main reason this is coming up with such urgency now, is because he knows the International Red Cross has already or will be interviewing 14 high level detainees. It is believed by many that they will reveal in detail the treatment they received during questioning. King George knows very well that just because he says "we don't torture", doesn't make it true. If so, why is it being reported that some members of the CIA are taking out insurance policies in case they face charges? You tell me what's really behind to rush to pass retroactive legislation clarifying what is meant by "No physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on prisoners of war" from the Geneva Conventions. Also, keep in mind, there already is U.S. legislation "Torture Implementation Act of 2005" which outlaws the use of torture. As Prof. Turley says, "I think that the Administration senses that there is a lot of trouble coming down the mountain". Take a look at the Olbermann clip below:

A Deer Caught In The Headlights - What's The Real Reason Bush Is Imploding?

Ok we showed you the clip of The Dictator of DC and his implosion with David Gregory from NBC News in a previous post. Now take a look at the outright rage Dear Leader shows with Matt Lauer during his interview on The Today Show. This is not just a man dodging a question. IMO both video clips show a man who is showing outright anger.....fuelled by fear. Don't you find it just a little strange that both with the treatment of detainees, and the rewriting of the FISA laws that he wants them both to be retroactive? Now that wouldn't be because he has broken both laws would it? This sudden push by Bush, Cheney and Rove is simply trying to cover their own asses. They know that if the polls are correct, they may lose control of the House and quite possibly the Senate. That means the Democrats control the committees and have subpoena power. This will mean some very uncomfortable questions they will have to answer under oath. No my friends, George is not just dodging questions. Look at his eyes. This man is afraid. Everyone should watch very carefully how this man who thinks he is king handles himself over the next month. The thing that worries me, is that a scared man is a dangerous man.

Typical Type Of Low Life Republicans Offer For Governor Of Michigan

Living as close to Detroit, Michigan as I do, the majority of television I see, or radio (other than Air America's internet stream) I hear is out of the local Detroit affiliates. The attack adds against current incumbent Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm by her opponent Dick DeVos, Amway CEO, (whose wife Betsy DeVos, is the former chairman of the Michigan Republican Party) are truly disgusting. Then when Jennifer fights back with the truth, in typical Republican style, DeVos tries to take the high road and acts like the bereaved party. Well, considering this news recently uncovered by The Michigan Daily. I'd say he is hardly without dirty hands. Morgan Wilkens, who works for the College Republicans National Commitee seems to have come up with a couple of really fun games that she hopes will turn out large numbers of University of Michigan Republicans. From MLM Liberal:
One such idea is "Catch an Illegal Immigrant Day," in which a volunteer would play the part of an illegal immigrant and hide somewhere on campus while others try to find him. The winner would receive a prize. Her other ideas include an event called "Fun with Guns," in which young Republicans would use a BB gun or paintball gun to shoot cardboard cut-outs of Democratic leaders such as Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.)...
Nice isn't it? Encouraging harassment of aliens and violence against Democratic leaders. Wow what a guy. It should also be noted that he and his family have been among the nation's biggest donors to Republican and religious-conservative causes. The Detroit Free Press reports that
DeVos is to casual observers linked mainly to Amway Corp. (now Alticor), the direct sales giant cofounded by DeVos' father Rich DeVos and his business partner Jay VanAndel in tiny Ada, just east of Grand Rapids. In the 2004 election cycle alone, the DeVos and Van Andel families gave more than $4.7 million to GOP causes in Michigan and Florida.
And what are a few of the "causes" Dickie boy and his family support? Nothing spectaular ( I say in jest). Try these on for size. The Family Research Council, Focus on the Family, Council for National Policy and the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty in Grand Rapids, the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and Michigan Right to Life. Here are a few of the other skeletons DeVos has to hide, courtesy of Peoples World Weekly:
When Tom DeLay rose to power in the Republican Party in the late 1990s, DeVos began a personal and financial relationship with him. Thousands of dollars were swapped back and forth between DeLay-controlled political action committees (PACs) and DeVos. Their relationship was so tight that DeLay held the first Republican Majority Issues Committee fundraiser on DeVos'’ private yacht, a party which was attended by no less a personage than "“Casino Jack"” Abramoff, according to the Washington Post. Ultimately, in September 2005 DeLay was indicted in Texas for laundering illegal campaign funds through PACs not unlike DeVos'’.
And of course it is no surprise that the DeVos family is also one of the 18 families funding legislation to repeal the estate tax....to the tune of $490 million since 1998. Now there's a real "man of the people". For him to be throwing attack ads and false information about Jennifer Granholm and then playing the part of the victim is truly despicable to anyone who has even the tiniest liberal/progressive bone in their body.

    Hiel George!!

Well they have finally stopped playing around with the power in my apartment building, and just in time to catch King George The Decider decide he will ignore article 3 of the Geneva Conventions. I'm telling you, this man is determined to usher in a fascist state come hell or high water. He can't make up the rules, so he will pout, stammer, and scream. Watch the video below and you tell me if he is behaving like a spoiled little boy who can't have his own way. He claims Article 3 needs to be clarified. Well it seems to me that every signator to the Geneva Conventions seems to get it except him. Just in case he needs a refresher course this is the relevant part (click through to read the entire article) No physical or mental torture, nor any other form of coercion, may be inflicted on prisoners of war to secure from them information of any kind whatever. Prisoners of war who refuse to answer may not be threatened, insulted, or exposed to any unpleasant or disadvantageous treatment of any kind. If this two-bit dictator and the rest of his cabal can't understand this, then may what ever God you believe in save us all. In the video below, Dear Leader warns that if the Senate doesn't give him what he wants then he will stop the entire program. Well George I say go ahead. The world and your country can't be any worse off or in any more serious danger than you have already created. This man actually makes Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that idiot President of Iran come across as sane!! And don't bother commenting or emailing me how terrible it is of me to picture Georgie as Hitler. When he stops acting like Hitler I will stop comparing the two. Until then, live with it. Your the asshole that supports the moron.

Looks like canuk - Has Got Some Splainin' To Do

Wow what a turn of events. As you know, on Sunday I gave you all a heads-up that there would be no posting other that my tribute to 9-11 and I would return on Tuesday the 12th with my thoughts on the crap-o-drama presented by Disney/Abc at that time. Well, the gods of cyberspace, or more correctly, "the gods of electricity" had other thoughts. On Sunday, all residents of this highrise were informed that we would loose access to all electrical service from 8 am to 8 pm. Well the power left right on schedule, but the electricians must have lost track of time or their watches were hydro power. I did not receive any service until 1:30 AM Sept. 12th. Well, know here's the icing on the cake. Power will once again be cut off to the building Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 AM to 12 Noon. Ok I can live with that, except I wonder if they will keep track of the clock this time, seing they were only 5 1/2 hours off yesterday. So please bear with me and rather than give a time definite for being back to live blogging, let's just say I will be here and post as possible. A premature thanks to all who care, see you soon I hope. In the meantime, watch your back and peace.

The World Changed Today - A Tribute To 9-11

The world changed today it was captured on videotape to be played and replayed we cannot bear to look we cannot turn away. The world changed today in an endless pile of steel and glass and paper and plastic and wires and fabric and concrete and flesh. The world changed today smoke and ash are visible from space our skyline is forever altered but our flag is still there The world changed today cowardice and courage met the city’s finest lived up to their name character is measured in sacrifice and service never in suicide and murder. The world changed today evil did what it does and so did good will we ever feel as safe again as we felt before this day. The world changed today millions cried and prayed together hearts broke, heads spun, knees bent fists clenched then became hands again in prayer And Jesus wept. The world changed today but the Word remains the same the Word that creates the Word that saves God said "Let there be light" and there was light and God saw that it was good. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. The world changed today the Word endures We know that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord. We are convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. The world changed today there is a sadness that will not soon be lifted an outrage not easily extinguished a resolve for justice tempered by profound respect for life a longing for peace a new birth of freedom an awakening of faith. The world changed today I am changed you are changed our children are changed forever for the better somehow The world changed today may God have mercy on us all. No Further Postings Here Until After 9-11

As I have done years past, there will be no posts on this blog unless some breaking news makes it necessary until after September 11th. I do this every year, to honor those so viscously murdered that day, and their families or significant others. I realize this year is especially different due to the blasphemous lie that Disney/ABC (as of now) intends to broadcast as truth to the citizens of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Unfortunately, it is being reported that the version shown already in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand were not edited to remove the lies and inaccuracies. You can read exactly what was broadcast in New Zealand from this New Zealand blogger: webweaversworld. I will be watching the broadcast tonight and on Monday night and will blog my thoughts on Tuesday, Sept. 12th. I am sure most of you saw most of the Sunday News Shows, and of course it was just as expected. ALL fear - ALL morning. The topper of them all IMO, was the Darth Vader Cheney appearance on Meet The Press. You can see a short clip at C&L, or watch the entire broadcast at MSNBC. Take note however that use must be using Internet Explorer to view the program on the MSNBC site. So until Tuesday, take care all and watch your back. My 9-11 tribute page will be up at 12:01 a.m ET September 11th. PEACE.

Senate Intelligence Committee Report Exposes Bush/Cheney Lies

How very interesting that this report is released on the usual day known as "Newsdump Friday". Do you think that just maybe they didn't really want the public to know the lies that were perpetrated and pushed the U.S. into the attack on Iraq? For years progressives have been saying far and wide there was absolutely NO connection between Iraq and the scumsuckers that attacked the U.S. on 9-11. We also have been saying far and wide that there was absolutely NO evidence that Iraq was ratcheting up its' nuclear program, NO evidence that Iraq possessed biological weapons. Wow, what a surprise, the now declassified report even confirms that there were NEVER any mobile laboratories for producing biological weapons as Colin Powell described to the United Nations. Here is a snippet from the report as reported by The Associated Press:
There's no evidence Saddam Hussein had ties with al-Qaida, according to a Senate report on prewar intelligence that Democrats say undercuts President Bush's justification for invading Iraq. Bush administration officials have insisted on a link between the Iraqi regime and terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Intelligence agencies, however, concluded there was none.
Now you tell me.....how much more does it take to expose this lying group of criminals occupying the White House for the criminals they are? Every single damn one of them have the blood of almost 3000 men and women of the U.S. military not to mention the thousands upon thousand of Iraqi people who have been and still are being killed. The report is available for viewing at intelligence.senate.gov.

Clintonistas?? Demand An Apology From ABC News.com

Damn these bastards straight to hell!!! When I first saw this at AMERICAblog, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I actually had to go to ABC News.com and look for myself. For the life of me I still can't believe the news department of a major outlet would permit a headline writer and/or reporter to use this type of wording. Take a look for yourself: Now I don't know about you, but I find this kind of biased and despicable reporting unconscionable. If you don't feel the same then I feel sorry for you and your sense of fairness. Now not only has Disney/ABC possibly slandered former President Bill Clinton and members of his administration, IMO their subsidiary and News Division has slandered not only every progressive in the U.S. and around the world, but any reality-based human with a working brain. Clintonistas? What in the name of all that is holy is a Clintonista? ABC just doesn't seem to get it. This is NOT about defending Bill Clinton. This IS about truthfulness, accuracy, and not re-writing history. I would urge you to use this LINK to contact ABC News directly. This kind of behavior is totally out of line and needs to be addressed by the viewing public.

Disney/ABC In Trouble If Dems Take Power

Matt Stoller at MyDD has an in-depth analysis of Disney's plight if "Path To 9-11" airs.
Time to Take Away Disney's Political Candy
I looked through the FEC filings this morning, and found some interesting and expected information about Disney's chief, Robert Iger. Though he gives generously to both parties, Robert Iger isn't a wingnut. He's a neoliberal businessman who believes that pro-business moderates from both parties should run the country. I imagine he's probably pro-choice, and he thinks of himself as sympathetic to the Democratic Party, though not what he perceives as the crazy part of the party. Given what I know about how big corporations think, I bet the political slant to the movie wasn't strictly intentional on Disney's part. I bet that Disney's ABC division used a set of PR firms and flacks that decided that 9/11 belonged to conservatives, and so hired conservative movement players to produce, market, and distribute this film. They got Tom Kean, so there was adult supervision. What a perfect event setup, to make ABC the place for the country to turn on 9/11. In this fragmented universe, wouldn't it be great to have a time when the country came together, on one place, to really understand this event through the medium of television. And how wonderful if this were on ABC. It would be AN EVENT. Read on......

    Disney/ABC Even Criticized On Fox

Well I never thought I would see this day, but thanks to Crooks And Liars we actually see Chris Wallace from Fox News Sunday, slam the showing of "Path To 9=11". Of course, Chris knows all to well what it is like to have a film made stating "so and so" said this, when in actuality it is totally made up. He went through this with Disney when they did a smear job on his father. View it for yourself HERE....

    Leading Historians Call Docudrama "Fraudulent"

Much like the Senate Democratic Leadership did yesterday, now a group of leading historians have also penned a letter to Disney/ABC President and CEO Robert Iger. Here is the text from openlettertoab c.blogspot.com:
Dear Robert Iger: We write as professional historians, who are deeply concerned by the continuing reports about ABC's scheduled broadcast of "The Path to 9/11." These reports document that this drama contains numerous flagrant falsehoods about critical events in recent American history. The key participants and eyewitnesses to these events state that the script distorts and even fabricates evidence into order to mislead viewers about the responsibility of numerous American officials for allegedly ignoring the terrorist threat before 2000.
    [snip]
Whatever ABC's motivations might be, broadcasting these falsehoods, connected to the most traumatic historical event of our times, would be a gross disservice to the public. A responsible broadcast network should have nothing to do with the falsification of history, except to expose it. We strongly urge you to halt the show's broadcast and prevent misinforming Americans about their history.
The heat on Iger and Disney has been mounting steadily since reviews of the film got out. Last evening Scholastic Inc. issued a statement which in part stated "After a thorough review of the original guide that we offered online to about 25,000 high school teachers, we determined that the materials did not meet our high standards for dealing with controversial issues" and today it is reported in Daily Variety that
Bill Clinton loyalists are demanding wholesale changes to the upcoming miniseries -- and while ABC is making some snips, the alterations, insiders say, may not please the Dems. But a bombshell decision may happen anyway: Sources close to the project say the network, which has been in a media maelstrom over the pic, is mulling the idea of yanking the mini altogether.
I just listened to a saved i-podder clip from MSNBC's Scarborough Country, and of course there was the usual wailing and gnashing of teeth about censorship from three conservatives. Which left only one progressive point of view from Rachel Sklar a News Editor from Huffington Post. Actually I should say there were four conservative points of view since they even went so far as to play a clip from the big mouth himself Rush Limbaugh. If I am able to post the clip I will do so. In the meantime, keep up the pressure. UPDATE So far I have been unable to find the video but the transcript is available from MSNBC

Senate Democratic Leadership Cracks The Whip

The entire Democratic Leadership have lowered the proverbial boom on Disney/ABC President and CEO Robert Iger. In a letter, signed by Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, Assistant Democratic Leader Dick Durbin, and Senators Debbie Stabenow, Charles Schumer, and Byron Dorgan, urges him to cancel the miniseries "The Path to 9-11". The letter takes ABC to task for among other inaccuracies, stating it is based on the official 9/11 Commission report ABC also planned to use the program as a teaching tool through Scholastic Inc., which rightly withdrew its' plans.
Mr. Robert A. Iger President and CEO The Walt Disney Company 500 South Buena Vista Street Burbank CA 91521 Dear Mr. Iger, We write with serious concerns about the planned upcoming broadcast of The Path to 9/11 mini-series on September 10 and 11. Countless reports from experts on 9/11 who have viewed the program indicate numerous and serious inaccuracies that will undoubtedly serve to misinform the American people about the tragic events surrounding the terrible attacks of that day. Furthermore, the manner in which this program has been developed, funded, and advertised suggests a partisan bent unbecoming of a major company like Disney and a major and well respected news organization like ABC. We therefore urge you to cancel this broadcast to cease Disney’s plans to use it as a teaching tool in schools across America through Scholastic. Presenting such deeply flawed and factually inaccurate misinformation to the American public and to children would be a gross miscarriage of your corporate and civic responsibility to the law, to your shareholders, and to the nation.
It then goes on to remind him in a not so subtle way of the wording of its' license.
The Communications Act of 1934 provides your network with a free broadcast license predicated on the fundamental understanding of your principle obligation to act as a trustee of the public airwaves in serving the public interest. Nowhere is this public interest obligation more apparent than in the duty of broadcasters to serve the civic needs of a democracy by promoting an open and accurate discussion of political ideas and events.
    [snip]
That Disney would seek to broadcast an admittedly and proven false recounting of the events of 9/11 raises serious questions about the motivations of its creators and those who approved the deeply flawed program. Finally, that Disney plans to air commercial-free a program that reportedly cost it $40 million to produce serves to add fuel to these concerns. These concerns are made all the more pressing by the political leaning of and the public statements made by the writer/producer of this miniseries, Mr. Cyrus Nowrasteh, in promoting this miniseries across conservative blogs and talk shows.
Considering the fact that the Leadership bluntly reminded them of their responsibilities under The Communications Act of 1934, I would say Disney/ABC will be in a heap full of trouble if they air this blatantly partisan view of what was a tragic day in the history of the United States of America. The entire letter is available at Democratic Senate Leadership Website.

Another Election Season - Another Osama Tape

Right on cue, the news media is playing another Osama bin Laden video. The Boston Globe reports:
CAIRO, Egypt --Al-Jazeera broadcast Thursday a previously unshown video of the preparations for the Sept. 11 attacks, in which al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden is seen meeting with some of the planners in an Afghan mountain camp. The station said that bin Laden also is shown greeting some of the hijackers, although their faces were not clear and it was not immediately known which are purportedly shown. The video included the last wills and testaments of hijackers Wail al-Shehri and Hamza al-Ghamdi.
Why am I not surprised a video surfaces right at the time both Bush and Tony Blair are in trouble with their citizens? It is being reported in Britain that Tony the lap-dog intends on leaving office within the next year, and of course we all know the status of King George in the polls. Right now it's all terror all the time on the network and cable news shows, and it has been announced on NBC that Dick (Darth Vader) Cheney will be the guest on Meet The Press this coming Sunday. This comes conveniently right on the heels of King George himself giving an interview to Katie Couric Thursday evening on CBS News broadcast. I'm sure we can expect more of the same right up until November.

    Famous Quote

Ok gang. Let's play a game. Read the quote below and figure out who made this statement:
And I think it was important that it be historically accurate. And if they didn't intend to make it historically accurate to make sure that viewers understood that it was not intended to be historically accurate but a fictional portrayal. So we made two requests: One is having historians review it for accuracy if you're going to broadcast it. And if you're unwilling to do that, inform the viewers that it's not historically accurate. That's not censorship, that's common sense. . . I've sent a similar letter to the head of Showtime making the same point: "If you're not willing to have it reviewed for historical accuracy, make sure your viewers understand that it's a fictional portrayal. You know, in this society that we live in and with the media culture that we have, there's infotainment and docudrama and reality TV, and the lines between fact and fiction blur. That's fine when it's entertainment, but when you're talking about the formative phase of the Reagan legacy formation, I think that it's important that we get things right. . . . I think that same standard should apply to the late president John F. Kennedy or to Jimmy Carter or any president. If you're going to portray a presidency and a president, I think you should do all you can to make sure it's accurate. . . .
    (a) DNC Chairman Tom McMahon (b) Former President Bill Clinton. (c) Former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger. (d) Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright. (e) None of the above. The correct answer is (e) None of the above. Thanks to Glenn Greenwald we find out it was none other than the Republican National Chairman (at the time), Ed Gillespe speaking about the eventually cancelled CBS miniseries titled "The Reagans". That's right my friends. When the entire Republican establishment at the time chose to put some pressure on what they perceived as a liberally biased program against their own Saint Ronnie Reagan, CBS took it off its' network, and put it on the cable channel to Showtime. Of course we always knew they were a bunch of hypocrites didn't we? Read the entire post at Unclaimed Territory I guarantee you will find it informative and fascinating.

Clinton Raises The Outrage Level Over "The Path To 9/11"

The outrage and warning level toward Disney/ABC was upped a notch yesterday when The DNC Chairman sent out his letter. Today, the level has been sent right through the roof by former President Bill Clinton:
WASHINGTON - A furious Bill Clinton is warning ABC that its mini-series "The Path to 9/11" grossly misrepresents his pursuit of Osama bin Laden - and he is demanding the network "pull the drama" if changes aren't made. Clinton pointedly refuted several fictionalized scenes that he claims insinuate he was too distracted by the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal to care about bin Laden and that a top adviser pulled the plug on CIA operatives who were just moments away from bagging the terror master, according to a letter to ABC boss Bob Iger obtained by The Post. The former president also disputed the portrayal of then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as having tipped off Pakistani officials that a strike was coming, giving bin Laden a chance to flee. "The content of this drama is factually and incontrovertibly inaccurate and ABC has the duty to fully correct all errors or pull the drama entirely," the four-page letter said. Read On.....
Hey there ABC it might be wise not to mess with Bubba.

Keith Pays Tribute To The Sexy?? Katherine Harris Primary Win

Oh my, the gift that keeps on giving. Considering the state of the Union in the run-up to the November elections, not to mention all the recent warmongering by the Bushco team, thank goodness we can get a nice little chuckle. Thanks Keith.

    DNC Kicking Some Ass

I just received this email from Tom McMahon Exec. Director of the DNC. It sure looks like they are out for a war with Disney/ABC, and none too soon IMO. Here are a few excerpts:
Dear Fellow Democrat, Does a major national broadcast network want to stain itself by presenting an irresponsible, slanderous, fraudulent, "docu-drama" to the American public? Not if you and I have the last word -- but either way, we're about to find out.
    [snip]
The miniseries, which was put together by right-wing conservative writers, relies on the old GOP playbook of using terrorism to scare Americans. "The Path to 9/11" mocks the truth and dishonors the memory of 9/11 victims to serve a cheap, callous political agenda. It irresponsibly misrepresents the facts and completely distorts the truth.
    [snip]
ABC is trying to use of the airwaves -- airwaves owned by you and me, and loaned to broadcasters as a public trust -- to slander Democrats and sell a slanderous, irresponsible fraud to the American people, and they're shamefully doing it just weeks away from Election Day. The Walt Disney Corporation could have given Americans an honest look at September 11. Instead, the company abandoned its duty to the truth -- and embraced the fiction known as "The Path to 9/11." We've got to stop this now. ABC/Disney must face an accountability moment. You can ratchet up the pressure on ABC by sending your own letter to Walt Disney CEO Robert Iger -- tell him to keep this propaganda off their air. We'll keep you up to date as this story evolves. Thank you, Tom Tom McMahon Executive Director Democratic National Committee
You can sign the DNC petition to ABC and include your thoughts and objections to this obscenity HERE.. If you wish to read the entire email, it is available at the DNC Blog, and stay updated with the latest happenings at Open Letter to ABC.

    Is Disney/ABC Breaking The Law?

The controversy and outrage continues towards Disney/ABC. One question being asked is: Why are people defamed in the program being denied advance access even when requested in writing? And could they be breaking the law by refusing to do so? Via AMERICAblog
Interesting behavior for a company that has a lot of business before Congress - a Congress that is expected to turn Democrat (at least in one house, maybe both) in about 8 weeks. Republican bloggers, Disney/ABC is happy to give them complementary advance copies of its error-riddled TV show about September 11. Read on.....
I hope they keep the heat on these corporate schills, and if the denials continue they get the crap sued out of them.

Slaughter Calls for ABC to Come Clean

Once again we have Louise Slaughter speaking truth to power, this time taking ABC to the woodshed over the biased documentary they plan to present. Without excellent members of Congress such as Ms. Slaughter (D-NY), there would be very few to express the pure outrage progressives feel at this obvious propaganda piece. Washington, DC - Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY-28), Ranking Member of the House Rules Committee, today called for ABC to make clear to viewers that its upcoming television mini-series The Path to 9/11 is not a documentary account of the events and political decisions that preceded the terrorist attacks of that day.
"ABC has a responsibility to make clear that this film is not a documentary, and does not represent an official account of the facts surrounding the September 11th attacks," Rep. Slaughter said. "Disclaimers noting that The Path to 9/11 is a docudrama should be shown throughout its airing. We have yet to establish the impartiality and accuracy of the people behind this film and the claims it advances, and the American people need to know that." Read on.....
No matter how much ABC claims as it does that the piece is not biased and is a docudrama not a documentary, I have to ask just why is it that only right wing bloggers and Rush Limbaugh have been permitted an advanced copy, while Democratic Members of Congress, and NO progressive bloggers been granted the same access? Hell, ABC is even showing it's unbiased nature by refusing an advance copy to former President Bill Clinton, National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Yet we are to believe in the trustworthiness of the ABC name. I think not! You can also let ABC know what you think of the Corporate Media shilling for the Bush Administration, by using the email generator at Think Progress.

Clark To Cavuto - 911 Attack On Bush's Watch

In case any of you had any doubt about the outright falsity of Fox News claim of "Fair and Balanced", you need to watch this. Thankfully there was a legitimate and true patriotic Democrat, and possible Presidential candidate named Gen. Wesley Clark to make Neil Cavuto look like the biased jerk that he is. As usual, it was all Clinton's fault, and of course because of King George there hasn't been another attack. Well Neil, IMO that is due more to blind luck and the excellent work of border security rather than anything Fascist George has done. Of course Cavuto claims that the Dems are the one's making this a political issue. General Clark also let him know that dog don't hunt either. Take a look:

Playing Games With Terror And Fear

On September 11, 2001 there were terror excercises taking place on the ground and in the air with NORAD that nearly mirrored entirely the horrifying attack that took place, and added to the confusion. This September 7, 2006 the United States is conducting "terror attack drills in Chicago according to The Chicago Sun-Times. Then just to keep the fear level rising, my hometown newspaper The Windsor Star is reporting that "dirty bomb attack" drills will be conducted just across the river from my home on September 8th and 9th. False Flag News which keeps track of these drills and excercises describes the dirty bomb drill as
The largest terror drill in U.S. history with a "simulated" drity bomb postulates terrorists coming across the Canadian border. Michigan is at high risk for a false-flag attack, as it was the site of pandemic drills on August 4th, and another set of flu and terror drills from July 17th to the 28th. The large Muslim population in Michigan would be the perfect scapegoat for a staged terror event, while justifying a REX-84 style concentration camps for Americans and a nuclear invasion of Iran. These Sept. 8-9 dirty bomb drills come two days after Sept. 7, when Chicago and Virginia are running simultaneous terror and pandemic drills.)
So George plays his games while the his own citizens and people around the world fear their outcome. Or should I say real purpose? Just askin.....

    Bin Laden Free To Go

Pakistan is one of the best allies the U.S. has in the Mid-east according to King George the Decider, not to mention its' place as a vital part to the "war on terror". If that's the case Dear Leader, can you kindly explain to your "lowly subjects" just why Pakistani officials have decided that as long as Osama leads a "peaceful life," he will not face capture in their country. ABC News is reporting
The surprising announcement comes as Pakistani army officials announced they were pulling their troops out of the North Waziristan region as part of a "peace deal" with the Taliban. If he is in Pakistan, bin Laden "would not be taken into custody," Major General Shaukat Sultan Khan told ABC News in a telephone interview, "as long as one is being like a peaceful citizen." Bin Laden is believed to be hiding somewhere in the tribal areas of Pakistan, near the Afghanistan border, but U.S. officials say his precise location is unknown. In addition to the pullout of Pakistani troops, the "peace agreement" between Pakistan and the Taliban also provides for the Pakistani army to return captured Taliban weapons and prisoners.
So there you have it folks Osama is basically a free man. This also raises another question. Why, at the behest of King George and the United Nations, are military from other countries including Canada suffering many deaths and critical injuries fighting George's war on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan since he decided to cut and run to Iraq in the name of Petrofascism? Pakistan and the Taliban sign a peace agreement which "provides for the Pakistani army to return captured Taliban weapons and prisoners". Now that should make things just so much safer for the military of the countries under the banner of the U.N. fighting the Taliban along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. In the same article, Richard Clarke, the former White House counter-terrorism director described the "peace agreement" this way. "What this means is that the Taliban and al Qaeda leadership have effectively carved out a sanctuary inside Pakistan. Ironically, this comes on the same day that King George said the United States was working with its allies "to deny terrorists the enclaves they seek to establish in ungoverned areas across the world." Right on the mark as usual George. God damn it!! Have I mentioned it to any of you lately just how much I hate these murderers in this administration? I truly fear that with elections so close that could strip them of some power we can fully expect to see the fear level climb higher and higher in line with the terror alert level.
