4 More Canadian Soldiers Killed Handling Bush's Afghanistan Mess
Four more members of the Canadian "peacekeeping" force in Afghanistan have been killed by a suicide bomber. The BBC reports that the soldiers were killed Canadian commander Gen. David Fraser said other troops were wounded. Police said a number of civilians were also hurt when the bomber rode a bicycle laden with explosives into a crowd of troops and children. The blast occurred in Panjwayi district, scene of recent fierce clashes between troops and the Taliban. ------- Local police said a patrol of Canadian soldiers were outside a school on foot, handing out pens and other items to children when a suicide bomber on a bicycle rode into the crowd. The explosives were in a crate on the back of his bike, an official said.So far, 32 Canadian soldiers and one diplomat have died since King George used his "cut and run" policy and pulled his troops for an illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq. As if this isn't bad enough, now we have Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay obviously with blessing of (Bush Clone) Prime Minister Stephen Harper, saying he intends to increase Canadian troop and equipment levels. Now tell me please if this sounds like exactly like King George regarding his Iraq policy? From The Globe and Mail. "We've said all along that we're there to finish the job". And an echo of Donald Rumsfeld? "Will we be there five years? Will we be there longer? That remains to be seen". Hell all that's missing from this quote is Rumsfeld's trademark of "There are known unknowns, and unknown unknowns bla bla bla.... All that's missing is his "Who knew ?" Now 32 soldiers may not seem like a large number when compared to U.S. military death in Iraq. But if you percentage it out with the amount of Canadian troops deployed to Afghanistan it comes to a stunning 43 per cent of all coalition military deaths in Afghanistan since February, the report, entitled 'Canada's Fallen", by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. The study also went on to say "The move south from Kabul to Kandahar, approved by the Liberal government in 2005 and extended by the Conservative government, has been a costly one. Twenty of Canada's deaths from hostile attacks, roughly three quarters, have occurred since the counterinsurgency mission began in February 2006. The mission is so hazardous that a Canadian soldier in Kandahar is six times as likely to be killed by hostile attack than a U.S. soldier serving in Iraq".Well I say it is time for Canada to get the hell out of Afghanistan, and let that two-bit dictator who thinks of himself as King George clean up his own frickin' mess. Are more Canadian military men and women supposed to die in the future especially considering that he now has his sights set on Iran? I'm sorry but just because he and his petrofascists want to eventually control the world oil distribution doesn't mean Canadian and other NATO forces should have to be murdered for his fools folly. |
