Where Is The Outrage?

How long ago was it, 3 weeks? 6 weeks? when all the paragons of virtue in the media and the leaders of the black community rose with one voice demanding the head of Imus for a so-called racist remark. Well my friends please explain to me why these same people are not raising the roof and demanding a boycott of sponsors of Rush Limbaugh. I urge you to view the video below and tell me this isn't a racist piece of crap, yet the Oxycontin man has been playing this song for weeks on his radio show. Some may think of this as just humorous parody of Senator Obama, but in my opinion Limbaugh has seriously crossed the line. You decide. Once again this blowhard Limbaugh gets a free pass from the media and worse yet, not a word from the two loudest critics of Imus, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. In fact the only person to seriously criticize this parody was Karl Frisch, a spokesman for Media Matters who is quoted in The Swamp (which is a blog from the Washington Bureau of the Chicago Tribune} saying: “We take these things seriously because there’s a consistent pattern of them making their way into the mainstream media and then the mainstream consciousness, it’s important to shoot these things down.” This is a very serious issue we are looking at here. It is this kind of racist crap pushed by Limbaugh along with the hate mail and threats against the Senator that are racist in tone, that caused Senator Durbin to approach the Secret Service and the Dept. of Homeland Security and request protection for Senator Obama, and it was given. I have to say it does really bother me however, that the same media and the same black leaders in the country that seemed to be on the cable shows 24-7 have said nothing. In fairness to Sharpton though, according to The Swamp, he did make a statement saying he wouldn't make an issue out of it without talking to the Senator. Fine but where are the rest?More....

Impeachment Drumbeat To Increase

"Be it Resolved, that George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney, by such conduct, warrant impeachment and trial, and removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States". These are the opening words of the impeachment resolution the California Progressive wing of the Democratic Party will push at this weekend's convention. Joye Swan, a Democratic delegate from California's 42nd Assembly District in Los Angeles, will introduce this resolution, with the hopes it will be adopted as the party's position. The Raw Story is reporting: When the California Democratic Convention begins this weekend, party progressives both inside and outside the San Diego Convention Center will be pressing hard to bring impeachment back on the table as a means of holding the presidency of George W. Bush accountable for crimes they allege have been committed since 2001. While there is nothing I would enjoy more than the impeachment and removal from office of these two bastards, in reality it would be a huge mistake to go forward now. Joye Swan of the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party, who is helping lead an effort to pass a resolution expressing the California Democratic Party's support for impeaching President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney saying: "I've been blown away by the response. People are wanting to organize and rally behind one single thing at the convention, and that's impeachment". She went on to say: With the Speaker saying it's off the table, it puts others Members of Congress at a lower tier," Gerbasi argued. "There are some representatives inching toward impeachment, but they may not commit until Pelosi changes her mind and puts it back on the table." You may recall Speaker Nancy Pelosi flatly stated that impeachment was off the table back in a May 2006 caucus meeting. If you look at the reality of the situation however, Pelosi is correct now, just as she was then. There are only two years left in King George's reign and it would take at least that long to even get the resolution of impeachment passed and sent to the Senate to approve, with no assurance you will ever get the votes. You would also have the Republican spin claiming this is all the Democrats have in mind. Instead of working on health care and ending the Iraq occupation, we know the Republican caucus, pushed along and highlighted by the corporate controlled media, will dominate the cable and print talking heads. Pelosi in a statement to The Raw Story, "I totally oppose the impeachment of the President, we have to use our energies to end this war. I don't think the popular support is there for such a move, I don't think we can get any Republican votes to move forward." She continued, saying: "We will do more to make for our own reelection, and maintain a Democratic Congress...and have a Democratic President," she said. "And frankly, for impeachment, George W. Bush is just not worth it. We have great work to do for the American people." Personally, I firmly believe that if they focus on impeachment their chances for keeping control of Congress and/or electing a Democrat President are nil. Illinois Senate President Causing A Rift In Democratic Black Caucus

Illinois (State) Senate President Emil Jones Jr. (a key political operative for Barack Obama), seems to be trying his best to cause a split in not only the Illinois Black Caucus, but pulling in African-Americans across the country into the controversy. Reporting on a meeting of the Democratic National Committee's black caucus at the winter meeting of the DNC in Washington this past week, the online magazine The Politico reports: A key supporter of Illinois Sen. Barack Obama urged united African-American support for his presidential bid, questioning whether black Democrats still "owe" Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton their support. One thing I can definitely say about Jones' speech is Senator Obama better reign this guy in or he will definitely damage his chances in his bid for the Presidency. Again from The Politico "How long are you going to owe?" politicians for past favors, Jones asked in a speech Friday to more than 100 members of the Democratic National Committee's black caucus and other political operatives gathered at the Washington Hilton for the winter meeting of the DNC, according to people who were there. Jones, a veteran black legislator, implored the black officials and operatives not to act like "crabs in a barrel' " the attendees said, and drag down a successful member of their community. So in general then, the gist of his comments was 'how long are we going to have to pay back the Clinton's' . I am sure the Clintons do not look upon the support of African-Americans as a dept that has to be paid, and comments like this have no place in the presidential bid of Senator Obama. The primary is supposed to be an exercise in the nominating process to shine a light on the views of candidates, and then determine who is the most qualified person to run for the presidency. It is not supposed to be a process that is conducted to "pay back" some supposed "debt". "How long are you going to owe?" Is this man a total idiot? These types of comments from anyone, let alone a black leader, are nothing but total nonsense. Black voters owe Senator Clinton absolutely nothing for their past support, nor do they owe Senator Obama anything because he is black.
