Don't Let The Door Hit You On The Way Out Judy
In what appears to be the final round of the soap opera "As The Judy Turns", it appears Miller and The New York Times are parting ways. The Wall Steet Journal reports:New York Times reporter Judith Miller has begun discussing her future employment options with the newspaper, including the possibility of a severance package, a lawyer familiar with the matter, said yesterday. ***** The newspaper began to distance itself from the reporter last week after the particulars of Ms. Miller's relationship with Mr. Libby were revealed in a first-person account of her testimony and in an independently reported piece in the Times. Those articles suggested that Ms. Miller may have misled the paper about a previously undisclosed meeting with Mr. Libby, and that the paper was negligent in not asking Ms. Miller more questions about her involvement before advancing her cause.I am sure Judy won't be on food stamps anytime soon however. Look for a generous severance package, which the NYT should NOT have to pay IMO. Doesn't lying to your employer count as "just cause" for dismissal? Then of course the ego that wrecked the Grey Lady will definitely write a book making herself out to be the modern day martyr for protection of reporters. If there is ANY justic in the world, the book (which will be filled with BS from cover to cover), will be a flop. It will be interesting however to see if it makes the NYT best sellers list. |
