No Fizgerald Decision Today
Via John at Crooks & LiarsI just got off the phone with Fitzgerald's office and the person I talked to was very cordial even after a long, hard day. I was told it would be highly doubtful if anything happened tonight. I asked for permission to print that and was told I could. However, the Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald did meet with the Judge in the case, Judge Hogan today. Now what went on at that meeting we can only guess at but according to the The NY Sun WASHINGTON—The federal prosecutor investigating the alleged involvement of White House officials in the leak of a CIA operative's identity spent most of the lunch hour today meeting with the chief judge of the federal district court in the nation's capital, Judge Thomas Hogan.Other lawyers familiar with the process said he could have been meeting with Judge Hogan for any number of reasons. Anything from seeking an extension of the GJ or requesting permission to empanel a new one or simply arrainging logistics for the announcement of his findings. So there you have it, the latest scuttlebut. Just one more tidbit. Rumors around Washington are that the so-called "target" letters have been sent out, and Fitzgerald will be calling a press conference for tomorrow although some are speculating not until Friday. |
