"Where is it written in the Constitution, in what article or section is it contained, that you may take children from their parents and parents from their children, and compel them to fight the battles of any war in which the folly and wickedness of the government may engage itself?.....Daniel Webster, Speech in the House of Representatives, January 14, 1814
I most certainly have. In fact I served in one. But what is unconscionable about the so-called "volunteer" army being used right now in Iraq and Afghanistan is the fact they are NOT general enlistees.......what the ARE are young men and women who joing the National Guard Service many of them whether you choose to believe it or not, who were told there was "no chance" of them being sent to Iraq. Furthermore,so that the military doesn't have to intitute a draft, and therefore face the wrath of the people for doing so, these people are being sent back to Iraq two and three times when their time of service is supposed to be completed.
