Good News For Elizabeth Edwards

I am sure most of you remember the devastating news we all received at the end of the Kerry/Edwards campaign, when we learned that Elizabeth Edwards had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Well today I came across this update from US News.com The treatment is over, and her doctors feel hopeful about the future. "She feels great," says spokeswoman Kim Rubey , "and her doctors are optimistic. It's all very positive." Which, as cancer doctors told us, is about as good as it gets since they just don't like to use the word cured. As a first year cancer survivor, I know all too well that oncologists absolutely refuse to use the term "cured" this early in the recovery process. I suppose that is wise of them but that is most definitely the word all of us in this unchosen club long to hear. But as Elizabeths' spokeswoman said, this is about as good as it gets. But personally I always like to add, with a big smile, two more words..... "FOR NOW". Keep up the fight Elizabeth and join me in showing that bastard whose name begins with C that we don't give up without a fight. More and more each day it is proven that not only medicine, but faith, conviction, family, and true-blue friends will win out in the end. I have been very fortunate as I am sure Elizabeth has, to have all of these.
