Ralph Reed Canned By Microsoft
As you may remember, Microsoft Corp. recently decided not to lend its' support to a gay-rights bill in Olympia Washington. This of course sparked (justifiably) much outrage in the progressive community even going so far as to a call for a nationwide boycott of future MS products. The momentum of criticism grew even stronger when it was discovered that Ralph Reed was on a $20,000 monthly retainer as a political consultant to Microsoft.
Well perhaps Gates and more importantly his shareholders saw the light and realized the mounting criticism and bad publicity was definitely affecting the reputation of Microsoft.
The Seattle Weekly reports:"as for Reed, if he ever had anything to do with Microsoft's role, or lack thereof, in this state's gay-rights debate, he won't next time. He's being deleted from the Redmond software giant's payroll, two company sources say, and he likely gets his last $20,000 check this month".MORE.... |
