The U.S. Constitution - 'It's Just A Goddamned Piece Of Paper' - Says Bush

This is the leader of the United States of America speaking. This is the Commander In Chief speaking. For God's sake this is the supposed Leader of the Free World speaking!!! This is his opinion of the Constitution of The United States, the very fabric on which a great nation was founded. Capitol Hill Blue reports that during a meeting with Congressional Republicans in the Oval Office discussing ways to get the Patriot Act renewed, when it was politely pointed out to him that some provisions of the act may not only alienate the public further but also some conservatives within his own party he had this to say:
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.” “Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.” “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”
That's right dear readers. The President of the United States looks upon the Constitution as nothing more than "a goddamned piece of paper!" Now damn it I don't care if you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent. That's not important right now. What is important is that you all have to realize and understand that this wanna-be dictator has no more respect for the basis on which the country was founded and thrived for over 200 years than newspaper at the bottom of a bird cage or worse a used piece of toilet paper. This - the same document he swore to uphold when he was sworn into office. If this doesn't show you the true mindset of this administration look no further than the recent past when his then White House counsel and present Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, wrote that the “Constitution is an outdated document". I shudder to think that this is the same bunch that feels it is their God-given right to invade another country and teach them about democracy. Democracy and The Constitution. This is what the loyal young men and women in the armed forces are supposed to be fighting, dying and being maimed for and their own Commander In Chief wouldn't think twice about using that sacred document to wipe his dirty ass.

I saw that item yesterday morning and sent it off to a few blogs. nobody posted it.
its a damn shame that a canadian has to show the americans how to get mad.
    americans don't deserve democracy.

Well perhaps they will post it in the future. I certainly hope so anyway. I find the same problem here in Canada as far as democracy goes, some people just seem to take it for granted. They don't realize that democracy is something to be cherished yet they will be the first to label others as being "unpatriotic" if they dare to question the actions of their government. I guess it is a universal problem, not confined only to the United States and Canada.

Well, Capitol Hill Blue isn't exactly the most believable source. That being said, it doesn't really matter to me if Bush ever said what the article claims he said. Just look at the things he and his administration do in the area of constitutional rights. He spits at the concept of human rights regularly. Torture, illegal war, USA PATRIOT Act, Gitmo, gay scapegoating, Katrina, poverty. You get my point.
And by the way, why don't Canadian leaders get some spines and challenge these crazed goons in any real way? It's like you have a whole parliament of Joe Lieberman Democrats up there.
