Lieberman Has Got To Go
I certainly hope the Democratic voters in Connecticut decide to run someone against Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT). If this guy is a TRUE Democrat, I'm in the running to be the next Pope of the Catholic Church.
It started out with his hug, and some would say attempted kiss of King George at his last State of the Union address to siding with Republicans every step of the way in Congress. Now to top things off he is quoted by nitwit George in his speech about the "plan" he has for Iraq.As Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman said recently, setting an artificial timetable would `discourage our troops because it seems to be heading for the door. It will encourage the terrorists. It will confuse the Iraqi people.' "Sen. Lieberman is right," the president said at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.I would certainly hope Connecticut takes up an offer by Moveon.org that was quoted in this same article to back a challenger to this two-faced jerk who continually stabs his party in the back. "[Moveon's Tom] Matzzie, whose organization claims more than 50,000 Connecticut members, said Wednesday that if his members ask, his group would back a Democratic challenger to Lieberman. Matzzie was in New Haven last month, and found 'the No. 1 question people asked me was, `What are we going to do about Joe Lieberman?'"All Democratic members of Congress who are DINO's should be turfed from the party. All they do is pull the true Progressives down and undermine their message. David Sorota nails it with his recent post...This is terrific news, as it shows the political infrastructure outside the Democratic Party apparatus is getting comfortable using both carrots AND sticks to pressure elected officials to take stands on issues. This is the way the right has been so successful - by rewarding their champions, and punishing those who undermine their movement. Amen to that. |
