Congressional Republicans Silence Vet's Voices

House Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Steve Buyer (R-IN) announced that for the first time in at least 55 years, “veterans service organizations will no longer have the opportunity to present testimony before a joint hearing of the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committees.” This is an outrageous act on the part of the House GOP leadership. I suppose we should not be surprised though, seeing as they are only good at mouthing the words "support our troops". When it comes to giving them the tools they need such as body armour and fully armoured tanks they are nowhere to be found. The only time they WERE there for them was to send them into an unjust invasion and occupation of another country, and when they decided NOT to pay for medical treatment and NOT to increase or even continue their existing benefits, and in fact actually cut them. A note to those "patriots" everywhere....supporting the troops is more than a bumper sticker or a flag lapel pin. More at Think Progress
