I see King George's minions have received the latest talking points to spread around the internet. You can bet your bippy it will be repeated on every talking head TV program on Sunday also. Definitely on Faux where Kristol is one of the panel. Here is Bill Kristol from The Weekly Standard: Last Tuesday, Harry Reid took to the floor of the Senate and asserted that the Bush administration had "manufactured and manipulated intelligence in order to sell the war in Iraq and attempted to destroy those who dared to challenge its actions." This is a serious charge; if it were true, it might well be an indictable offense. But it is, in reality, a slander. Shouldn't the president defend his honor? After all, the bipartisan Silberman-Robb commission found no evidence of political manufacture and manipulation of intelligence. And of course this was quickly picked up by that "beacon of truth" named Time's Blog of the Year: I don't understand it, and neither does Bill Kristol. The Democrats are mounting the most scurrilous political campaign that has been seen in American politics since the Civil War. The administration can easily win the argument over Iraq, but instead it has abandoned the field to the enemy. Why? Kristol wonders, "[D]o they enjoy being punching bags at the White House?" Sorry fellas, that bullshit just doesn't seem to match the facts. Here is what the Silberman-Robb Commission REALLY said: "[W]e were not authorized to investigate how policymakers used the intelligence assessments they received from the Intelligence Community. Accordingly, while we interviewed a host of current and former policymakers during the course of our investigation, the purpose of those interviews was to learn about how the Intelligence Community reached and communicated its judgments about Iraq's weapons programs--not to review how policymakers subsequently used that information." You want to talk about scurrilous remarks by the Dems, get your facts straight and your own house in order before you open your mouth or hit the keyboard to defend that slimy bunch of criminals in the White House.
