Memo To Religious Right - You've Been Had!!!

When are you people of the religious right going to wake up and smell the coffee? That's right I am talking to you - the very people who feel it is YOUR Christian duty to tell the rest of us sinners how to live our lives. What we can read, what we can watch, and even how to conduct ourselves in the privacy of our own bedrooms. Well, no disrespect intended to any of you, but I feel it is MY Christian duty to let you know you would get MORE respect from a $2 prostitute. Obviously your own moral self rightiousness blinds you to facts in the real world. Here is an excerpt from testimony at the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs Oversight Hearing. Via Brad Blog: In plain terms, Scanlon confessed the source code of recent Republican electoral victories: target religious conservatives, distract everyone else, and then railroad through complex initiatives. "The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees," Scanlon wrote in the memo, which was read into the public record at a hearing of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. "Simply put, we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them." The brilliance of this strategy was twofold: Not only would most voters not know about an initiative to protect Coushatta gambling revenues, but religious "wackos" could be tricked into supporting gambling at the Coushatta casino even as they thought they were opposing it. Isn't that nice dear members of the religious right? Your very own Republican party (remember now, Scanlon was an aide to your icon of religiousity Tom Delay), strums you like a well tuned guitar, and they will keep strumming you right through your much anticipated and longed for "rapture".
