Hurry! Hurry! - Save The Kings' Image!

If you don't believe me in my previous posts HERE and HERE that there is a deliberate campaign underway to spin the events surrounding hurricane Katrina (especially the Bush directed response), think again. As can be seen in The NYT it has already been done. In other words, the puppet-master who pulls King George's strings is on the job.
The effort is being directed by Mr. Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove, and his communications director, Dan Bartlett. It began late last week after Congressional Republicans called White House officials to register alarm about what they saw as a feeble response by Mr. Bush to the hurricane, according to Republican Congressional aides. As a result, Americans watching television coverage of the disaster this weekend began to see, amid the destruction and suffering, some of the most prominent members of the administration - Richard B. Myers, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Donald H. Rumsfeld, the secretary of defense; and Condoleezza Rice, the secretary of state - touring storm-damaged communities.
And of course the talking heads will be quick to accommodate their meal-ticket that is the Rove directed White House.
Republicans said the administration's effort to stanch the damage had been helped by the fact that convoys of troops and supplies had begun to arrive by the time the administration officials turned up. All of those developments were covered closely on television.
These sick, evil-minded bastards think of only one thing and believe me it sure as hell isn't the victims of this catastrophe . Image and the power it gives is all they care about. That's the reason the networks were NOT ALLOWED to show us, the great unwashed, film of flag draped caskets or the injured returning from Iraq, and that is why now the press will be allowed LESS ACCESS (the troops will claim it is too dangerous to go there therefore "access restricted") to what is really happening in the flood ravaged areas of the Gulf Coast and MORE ACCESS to sound bites from a select few administration-approved officials and pictures of competent aid being given. Who will care that it is FIVE OR SIX DAYS TOO LATE!!!! After all, these "refugees" (God I hate that term), should have known better and evacuated when told to.
For example, administration officials who went on television on Sunday were instructed to avoid getting drawn into exchanges about the problems of the past week, and to turn the discussion to what the government is doing now.
They are evil, fascist, bastards all of them. And their enablers in the MSM are just as bad and all too willing to play the game.

Well, tres cee, that is just pure and utter bullshit. I hope that was sarcasm. It's hard to tell on a blog.
The media in the US is controlled by mostly Republicans. Go here. Now what do you have? And are just those corporations evil? What about tobacco and oil or military equipment contractors? Do they qualify?

You know, Canuk, they have already started shifting the blame for everything negative over to the local governments. But you know, if the local government can't handle the situation, it is the Feds fault. They were supposed to help prepare each sensitive area for a disaster. And all the Homeland Security money obviously was not very effective.

tres cee thanks for your comment but I gotta tell ya, I don't give a flying fig if he was getting investigated for beheading his mother!!! That still does NOT excuse the inept non-response from the Bush administration until five friggin' days after a Hurricane they knew was going to hit a full 4 days BEFORE that. And now they want to use it for a fricking photo-op because they are finally doing something. And of course it is everybody elses' fault but theirs. So he was being investigated who the hell cares........you seem to think this justifies King George's attitude. Well if you are so concerned about people being investigated.......get concerned about Tom DeLay and the rest of the criminals in the Senate and Congress then come back here and complain.

You make a perfect observation there Sylvana. Just where is the money for homeland security? If it is being, or has been spent on preparedness, I sure as hell would hate to see what will happen if there is another bad terrorist attack. If this is an example of how they handle a disaster then God help us!

Just think about one thing, they have been asking for years to have those levees upgraded and King George refused the funding yet they can allow pork barrel funds for a frickin bridge in Alaska that will service all of 50 people on some island. Of course what they don't want you to know is that the Governor of Alaska owns that land and stands to profit millions if not billions of dollars when development starts.

Investigate away tres cee if you want to look into something worthwhile.

Too bad the Louisiana National Guard wasn't of more assistance. Of course, its rather difficult to help your family and other members of your state when you're in Iraq.

You know why the people don't want to leave New Orleans, don't you? Most of them are so poor, living from day to day, week to week, they know if they are relocated to Atlanta or Houston, they'll never have the funds to return. After all, they were not able to evacuate before Katrina.
