Bush Job Approval Unchanged by War Speech

Zogby Polling shows that King George's job approval did not get the bounce he was looking for by taking over the TV screens of the nation and subjecting the people to more platitudes and lies. In fact, he actually dropped a percentage point. It should also be noted that "Red Staters", voters living in the states that cast their ballots for the Bush-Cheney ticket in 2004—now rate his job performance unfavorably, with 50% holding a negative impression of the President’s handling of his duties, and 48% holding a favorable view.
President Bush’s televised address to the nation produced no noticeable bounce in his approval numbers, with his job approval rating slipping a point from a week ago, to 43%, in the latest Zogby International poll.
This is not at all surprising to the progressive, reality-based community. And I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to fall in the polls. A low job approval rating is the least of this scumbag's worries however. It looks like a good portion of the people polled also would approve of impeachment if it is found he did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq.
A large majority of Democrats (59%) say they agree that the President should be impeached if he lied about Iraq, while just three-in-ten (30%) disagree. Among President Bush’s fellow Republicans, a full one-in-four (25%) indicate they would favor impeaching the President under these circumstances, while seven-in-ten (70%) do not. Independents are more closely divided, with 43% favoring impeachment and 49% opposed.
While this is far from an overwhelming move towards impeachment, Bush had better start worrying if Democrats in congress get their way and conduct open hearings on the other leaks that are starting to make a move in the media. Perhaps this is why the Republican Congressional leaders are beginning to distance themselves from his highness, and are doing their very best to silence any move the Dems make to bring George's and their dirty little secrets out in the open. If the Demorcrats make significant gains in the next election round in '06 the whole lot of them had better start heading for cover.

Impeach George W.? We don't impeach Republican presidents who lie about important things such as Iran contra, guns for hostages, and the Iraqi war. And, no one has the guts to ask them about THEIR sex life.
