Jim West - GOP BuzzFlash Hypocrite Of The Week

The choice this week for the GOP hypocrite of the week from BuzzFlash is the Republican anti-gay Mayor of Spokane, Jim West. In explaining the reasoning behind this weeks' pick, here is an excerpt from BuzzFlash. According to Spokane's Spokesman-Review newspaper, "For a quarter century, the man who is now Spokane's mayor has used positions of public trust – as a sheriff's deputy, Boy Scout leader and powerful politician – to develop sexual relationships with boys and young men." That sounds like a good reason to me, but WAIT THERE'S MORE!!! In fact, West is [also] accused of offering two openly gay men city jobs after he met them in a gay Internet chat room. One guy says "he resigned from the city's Human Rights Commission in January after West 'hounded me for months, telling me I was cute and asking me out on dates.'" West offered him $300 cash if he'd swim naked with the Mayor. Another 18-year-old male says he had sex with West last June. Why are all these politicians in the Republican Party so anti-gay, yet proven to be very gay themselves? Could it be a repressed self-hate that they just have to force on everyone else? Come on guys be honest with yourself and others. You may then come to feel for yourselves what it means to have the religious right wingnuts declare open season on lesbian and gay citizens.
