Reid Attacks GOP Arrogance
The Democratic Leader of the Senate Harry Reid (D-NV) is charging the Republican Party with an "arrogancy of power" following the death of Terri Schiavo the Associated Press is reporting.
He said "If they don't get what they want, they attack whoever's around," said Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada. "Now they're after the courts, and I think it goes back to this arrogancy of powerAlthough Republicans in the Senate appear to be steering clear of any connection to the right-wing christian conservatives who have complained about the federal court system in relation to the Schiavo case, over in The House of Representatives it appears Tom DeLay (R-TX) is running scared from his strident attitude toward the judiciary that he was advocating just a day ago. Ever since it was reported that DeLay is loosing support in his home district in Texas he has turned tail and done an about face. DeLay was scheduled to appear as a keynote speaker at a conference titled The Judicial War On Faith according to their website yesterday. Today however DeLay's name is missing from the headline. BLOGAmerica has a screenshot of the two different headlines which announces the keynote speakers. |
