Fox "Fair and Balanced" Not Correct
Fox News uses the motto "Fair and Balanced News", but I guess they forgot that news should also be correct.
Fox's Shep Smith, according to press reports actually had the Pope dead hours before he actually died. I guess he just forgot to tell God. Maybe next time he can call George Bush (who claims God speaks to him), and ask him to let the big man upstairs in on the news.
In fairness to Fox, other news outlets were also guilty of this rush to be number one with the news. As the Houston Chronicle reported, The cable networks, however, were taking a full-force approach to the story. Fox News Channel dispatched Shepard Smith to Rome, and he and Geraldo Rivera were scheduled to anchor during prime time Saturday. CNN was sending Anderson Cooper, Aaron Brown and Bill Hemmer to Rome, where they would join Christiane Amanpour and a half-dozen other reporters. Four reporters were already in Rome Friday for CNN en Español, and another was there for CNN Radio. In all, CNN planned to have 52 people, including crew members, in Rome by the end of day Friday.Come on guys!!! Your news departments are very well staffed with researchers to check reports like this out. Do it right and either get these people to do their jobs and check facts or get someone who will. |
