DeLay Support Slipping
In a recent AP/Houston Chronicle poll, support for "hot tub" Tom is dropping in his home district in Texas. A Houston Chronicle poll finds that support for House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has slipped drastically in his district. And a majority of DeLay's constituents disapprove of how he handled the Terri Schiavo case. 49 percent said they would vote for someone other than Tom DeLay if a congressional election in the 22nd District were at hand. Thirty-nine percent said they would stick with him. Pollster John Zogby says there's no question that there has been an erosion in support for the congressman. The Democratic strategy should be to keep DeLay's ethics investigation and the recent Schiavo fiasco in the forefront thru the '06 election cycle. |
