Gannon/Guckert In Headlines Again
Well it looks like an old newsmaker is a new newsmaker again. The imposter reporter Jeff Gannon/James Guckert or whatever name he is going by these days is in the headlines again.
The Washington Times/UPI is reporting that he has allegedly been using a Non-Profit organization called Freedom Speech Foundation for political fundraising.
Last Thursday in a diary by sean mykael on the blog DailyKos it was reported that Gannon/Guckert used the organization to fundraise for a pro-Bush Web site, ProBush.com. Apparently ProBush.com was facing a $5 million libel suit for naming an Arab-American senator on its' ongoing "Traitor List."
The Freedom Speech Foundation was registered under the U.S. IRS Code 501(c)(3) and states on its' website that:
This site is maintained by Free Speech Foundation. It is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. It relies on the private financial support of individuals, the general public, foundations, and corporations for its income. Because The Free Speech Foundation is an educational organization, contributions made to it are tax deductible.Gannon/Guckert was the Whitehouse correspondent for the now closed Talon News until it was exposed on blogs such as DailyKos, AMERICAblog, and World O'Crap, that he was allegedly running a gay male escort service on the internet and had been issued a "day pass" daily for over two years to gain access to the Whitehouse briefing room. It appears he was there as a Whitehouse "plant" in order to throw "softball" questions to Press Secretary Scott McClellan and in at least one instance President Bush himself.
