Judge Quits FISA Court - Cites Illegal Use Of Domestic Spying
We have had high ranking members of Congress both Republican and Democrat site past warnings sent to the Administration, high ranked Constitutional scholars (right and left) saying that the NSA domestic surveilance practices are against not only the Contitutional law, but also Federal Law. Now word comes out from MSNBC:U.S. District Judge James Robertson, one of 11 members of the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, sent a letter to Chief Justice John D. Roberts Jr. late Monday notifying him of his resignation without providing an explanation. Two associates familiar with his decision said yesterday that Robertson privately expressed deep concern that the warrantless surveillance program authorized by the president in 2001 was legally questionable and may have tainted the FISA court's work. There are also reports that Sens. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb) and Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) have joined with their Congressional colleagues Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Carl M. Levin (D-Mich.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) demanding an investigation to determine if not only Constitutional but Federal Laws were broken. With this and other investigations planned for '06 I am happily anticipating a NOT So Happy New Year for the Bush Crime Family. See George, being a dictator isn't as much fun as you though it would be when you made the statement "If this were a dictatorship we'd have it a lot easier. Just so long as I'm the dictator". Unfortunately for you the truth has a strange way of rearing its' head when you least expect it. |
