Is NYC Terror Alert Really A Diversion?
As you are all aware, there was another terror alert in NYC today. I have serious questions regarding this latest scare. If the information officials in NYC was of such detail as to time and place as was insinuated in the press conference, why is it that the FBI and Homeland Security in Washington were unaware of the threat, until Rep. Peter King (R-NY) announced it? It seems like an awfully round about way of alerting the residents of NYC. Is this another case, as in Katrina, where one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing? Or is it a case of, dare I say it - "grand standing" by Peter King at the behest of the White House to divert attention from looming legal problems in the administration? You may think this is a terrible thing for me to allege in the current situation, but I can't help but remember all the times King George and his cronies raised the alert level for political reasons in the past. Former Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge even admitted that he had been pressured by the CIA to raise the threat level without sufficient cause in the past. Link available here.
