    I've always admired the opening words of the US Declaration of Independance and they ideal they represent. America may have fallen short on accasion but but don't we all.

    cycles2k calgary thanks for leaving your comment. However I must disagree with you slightly. IMO it is not America itself that has fallen short.

    My take is that it is the administration and those who call themselves Republican in both houses of Congress.

    These are not Republicans in the true sense of the word. They and the Administration trash the wonderful and inspiring Constitution at every oppurtunity. Proof of this is George Bush's comment "it's just a goddamn piece of pape". Or take the remark by the AG (who is supposed to be the official the lawyer for the country, not George Bush) comment that the Constitution is nothing more than a "quaint" piece of paper. If TRUE Americans of all stripes don't stand up and push back soon, all the hard-fought rights found in the beloved Constitution wil be lost forever.

    love, if you are referring to the "far-right idealogues" who are the so-called base of George Bush's cheerleaders, then NO Muslims are NOT equal. And unforunately the far right extremests are the one's with the power and the loudest voice at the moment.

    Hopefully this will change in the upcoming November election. No matter what your party affiliation, or what higher power you believe in, true equality will only begin to be restored when true checks and balances are returned to Congress.

    It is most disturbing that not only in the U.S. and here in Canada the name Muslim is automatically seen in conjuntion with the name "terrorist". If the people with this attitude would take the time to educate themselves by reading and learning the true meaning of the Koran they would realize the true Muslim religion is one of peace.
