    A Letter To King George

Below is a letter sent to King George reminding him how John Bolton lied during his confirmation hearings. Of course telling one liar about another liar usually doesn't do much good, but I give these Senators an "A" for effort. At the very least it let's that jerk know we are all aware of of his underhandedness. A recess appointment to the UN, (and bypassing the Senate), a world body where the US and its' credibility is in tatters is really going to help raise the level of respect. This President's legacy will go down in history as as the little boy bully who took his marbles and went home to Crawford when he couldn't get his way.
In light of the fact that John Bolton was not truthful to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the questionnaire he swore was truthful, we ask that you do not make a recess appointment of Mr. Bolton to be the Ambassador to the United Nations and instead submit a new nomination to the Senate. Mr. Bolton's excuse that he "didn't recall being interviewed by the State Department's Inspector General" is simply not believable. How can you forget an interview about an issue so important that the United States Senate unanimously passed an amendment stating that Congress supports "the thorough and expeditious investigation by the Inspector General of the Department of State and the Inspector General of the Central Intelligence Agency into the documents ... that the President relied on to conclude that Iraq had attempted to obtain uranium from Africa"? The amendment was cosponsored by the Chairmen of both the Foreign Relations Committee and the Intelligence Committee. Mr. President, we know you are engaged in an effort to strengthen our relationships throughout the world. Sending someone to the United Nations who has not been confirmed by the United States Senate and now who has admited to not being truthful on a document so important that it requires a sworn affidavit is going to set our efforts back in many ways.
    Signed by:
Senators Durbin, Clinton, Reid, Biden, Dayton, Levin, Kohl, Kennedy, Harkin, Sarbanes, Salazar, Bill Nelson, Feingold, Jeffords, Reed, Boxer, Lautenberg, Wyden, Rockefeller, Kerry, Feinstein, Obama, Stabenow, Dodd, Dorgan, Akaka, Mikulski, Leahy, Cantwell, Murray, Schumer, Corzine, Lincoln, Bingman, Conrad, and Baucus.
Thank you Senators, at least we know there are at least 36 people in Washington with a sense of ethics. Now it's off to vacation in Crawford for King George. Gotta get your strength back from all that lying so you can be in full-charge mode when you get back. You got to have all your strength to manipulate Rove and your VP and yourself out of indictments, bring back the troops from Iraq for 2 months, then recall them for your next jaunt into the Middle East. This time to bring Democracy to Syria and Iran. I'm sure they will welcome the young men and women of the military with cheering and flowers like they did in Iraq. This won't surprise me at all. After all there is an election cycle coming around again in '06. Time to scare the citizens some more with a real or perceived terror alert and get them all to rally round the flag again. I guess all we can hope for is that you don't get advance warning of an REAL attack again so you can ignore it while you read (er look at the pictures in) My Pet Goat while thousands of the people you are charged with protecting here at home are killed.
