Over the next five days, Operation Truth is trying to raise $10,000 to fund a very important trip to Washington, D.C. In a little over a week, Operation Truth will set up shop in Washington for three days of meetings with members of Congress. Meetings are already scheduled with several prominent lawmakers' offices on both sides of the aisle. The trip is a crucial part of their efforts to raise Congressional awareness of the issues facing our troops during and after their time in Iraq. Operation Truth wants to bring a number of their member veterans to take part in the meetings. Their testimony is the most powerful argument for addressing the needs of the men and women in uniform. They can put a face on issues ranging from Humvee armor to PTSD. The cost of plane tickets, hotel rooms and missed days of work quickly adds up. That's where you come in: They are trying to raise $10,000 to go towards this trip and future lobbying efforts in Washington. Your contributions will go directly towards the efforts to put the truth about Iraq, and it's effect on our troops, squarely in front of the policy makers in Washington.
