Saddam (And His Secrets) Dead By 10 P.M. Tonight

The Associated Press is reporting: An adviser to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Saddam would be executed before 6 a.m. Saturday, or 10 p.m. Friday EST. Also to be hanged at that time were Saddam's half-brother Barzan Ibrahim and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, the former chief justice of the Revolutionary Court, the adviser said. This should make life much easier now for the US officials from the administrations of St. Ronald Reagan, George Bush the Elder, and of course the current administration of George Bush the Decider. Now all those dirty little secrets he could have told the world about the U.S.'s supplying him with chemical and other weapons, and the outright encouragement of his war with Iran and looking the other way when he first decided to invade Kuwait then turning on him. Look for your usual TV or Radio program to be interrupted with the news, and continuous coverage of just how bad a tyrant he was, but strangely no mention will be made of his "friendship" with Donald Rumsfeld much less the video. I suppose this means "mission accomplished" yet again and now the justification for more US military deaths and the massacre of thousands more innocent Iraqi's will be to spread democracy....ooops they already did that didn't they? So I guess the quagmire continues, and Haliburton and the other ghouls from the military industrial complex President Eisenhower warned against back in 1961 will continue to get rich. Perhaps King George should read this: In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex.
