Hoyer Elected Majority Leader

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) has been elected Majority Leader by a vote of 149-86. Personally I don't really have a strong leaning for either Hoyer or Rep. John Murtha (D-PA). Either way the corporate media will report the story as Nancy Pelosi being weak and ineffective because the candidate she backed lost, and you can rest assured if Murtha had won the caucus election they would have had a field day with the old history of Abscam. Sure to be downplayed by all the talking heads will be the fact she won the position as Speaker of the House by a unanimous vote of her peers. Here is the line-up: House Speaker: Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Majority Leader: Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) Majority Whip: Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) Caucus Chair: Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) Vice-Caucus Chair: Rep. John Larson (D-CT) The vote for the Democratic Caucus has been held it is time to accept the results and move on. The usual practice of eating our own will only give Repubs and the media something to harp about.
