Shots Fired On Capitol Hill
CBS NEWS reports:(CBS/AP) Police sealed off the Capitol on Friday after receiving reports of gunfire in a House office building across the street. Capitol police are investigating "the sound of gunfire in the garage level of the Rayburn House Office Building," said an announcement on the internal Capitol voice alarm system. In a message from the U.S. Capitol Police, police advised people that if they are in the Rayburn House Office Building, they should "quickly move into the nearest interior office space or interior hallway and away from windows."More.... UPDATE 3:35 EDT Capitol police say they've completed their search of the Rayburn House Office Building. They say the building is now safe for normal activities. They said they could not confirm that any gunfire had taken place, and they reported no injuries and no arrests. |
