A Controversial Mosaic
I came across this mosaic at on of my favorite blogs Syllogistic. I must tell you, the mosaic is made up of pictures of all the military war dead in this illegal war an occupation of Iraq. Some find the mosaic to be a good thing symbolically, because it shows that all these deaths are on Bush's head, and others like myself, feel it is showing a discourtesy to the men and women who gave their lives for an illegal war and occupation. I decided to post the picture here to find out what everyone here thinks. Please leave a comment, and vote in our poll. Please Note: Photo and Poll have been removed...causing problems in display. |

Aw, that was such a nice thing to say about me. Thanks!
You guys have me thinking this over pretty heavy. But that's what is nice about intelligent debate- it can show the legitimate sides to an issue so that you can make an informed decision.
I see both sides. The President refuses to acknowledge the war dead in many ways. The mosaic literally puts those men and women in his face so he can't deny they exist.
I have seen this mosaic before and I think it was a great work done.
I personally view it in way that their deaths, Bush is accountable for it.
That is to say, he caused their deaths.
I understand the symbolism of the deaths being on GW's head. However, if it were my relative or friend, I would in no way want their image soiled by the connection to GW. Make a mosiac of the U.S. or an eagle. That would have respectful significance because, regardless that their meaningless deaths cannot be restored, many did think they were fighting for freedom from tyranny in Iraq.
