Welcome To Jeb's Police State

After reading this today I am more convinced than ever the US is moving faster and faster towards a police state. Of course seeing that it took place in the "Land of Jeb", I guess it shouldn't surpise anyone. BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- A deputy Tasered an intoxicated 13-year-old girl who was kicking and scratching two hospital nurses, officials said. April Rene Burleson, who is 4-foot-9 and weighs 90 pounds, had a blood alcohol level of 0.175 percent and was under the influence of marijuana and the prescription drug Xanax, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. This is ridiculous. A drunk 90 pound 13 year old? And it gets even better with the whining from a spokesman for the Sheriffs office. "You have to understand, she was lashing out, kicking and scratching," sheriff's spokeswoman Ileana LiMarzi. "She was acting like an adult who needed to be restrained. Just because she's 13 doesn't mean she can't harm somebody." I don't care if she was acting like an adult. You can't tell me that a sheriffs deputy couldn't find a more civilized way to restrain a girl who could be blown over in a stiff wind. Now mind you I am not condoning in anyway a drunken teenager, also on Xanax but give me a break. Certainly between the deputy and more hospital staff they could hold her long enough for restraints to be applied. MORE....
